AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK:
NEA Statement of intent
Centre Number: 13415 Centre Name: Leyton sixth-form college
Candidate Number: 7009 Candidate Name: Liberty Aigbedion
Brief chosen: Fashion Magazine
For my magazine front cover/context pages I will use media language to successfully show a modernised identity for the magazine which appeals to a demographics of older teenagers from 16-19 year olds. In order to accomplish this, I will use a mid-shot which incorporates texts and fonts which contribute to the mise en scene of the images used for the magazine. The front covers of my magazine use bigger texts to essentially make the most important themes of the magazine to stand out. For example, in my first front cover, "most fashionable" is in bigger text to let the audience notice that the magazine is a fashion magazine so the audience should mainly focus on the fashion aspects of the magazine instead of the rest. In a mid shot, a model I will use will have his arms crossed, a stern look on his face to connote a masculine and macho figure. This will demonstrate to the audience the theme of patriarchy which is commonly used in the media as he is displaying manly personality traits which are associated to a man who is in control. The subheading of that particular magazine cover will be "upcoming basketball success", this summarises his talents and is a use of cliché pieces of texts which are used in magazine covers to give the audience an idea
of what makes the person being used in the front cover unique. The magazine covers give the audience the impression that talented teenagers can still be fashionable whilst trying to achieve their dreams. It does this by stating their talents: music, basketball, modelling and putting that text alongside fashion related quotes. Similarly, the context pages also have fashionable content which allows the audience to further explore the fashionable aspects of the magazine.

The Website for my magazine will use media language to also demonstrate the fashion industry through teenagers and their appliances. I will do this by having subheading which will show each individual aspect of the website. For example, I will have the subheading " the best of teenage fashion" which will allow the audience to immediately acknowledge the fashion aspects of the website and that my magazine is mainly displaying how stylish some teenagers are. My Website will give a brief descriptions of what they do to allow us to know what makes them unique. For instance, one of my models plays basketball so therefore the headline would foreshadow this to allow the audience to know that he is passionate about basketball. The website will have binary oppositions as male models and appliances will have a masculine trait towards them. Whereas, the female models and appliances will have a feminine trait towards them. An example would be that there will female jewellery being displayed on the website alongside watches for men. This will appeal to a wider audience as the website is not just aimed at one gender. The audience will also see many talented teenagers on the website this should inspire the audience as people at a young age are doing so much so they will feel that since teenagers are doing their dream careers, they should too. The Magazine will be published by Bauer as they are a company that take interest into magazine which will appeal to a wider audiences so we feel that they would like to publish ours as its for a male and female audience.
I intend to make the magazine covers/ contexts page by firstly taking pictures of my models which portrays their masculine or feminine traits. Once I've taken the pictures, I will use Photoshop and InDesign to edit the images and start creating my magazine cover and contents page. Firstly, Ill add text to the magazine cover and contents page which are fit for the purpose. I will also make sure the font is appropriate for the type of magazine it is which is a fashion magazine. Then, ill add essential components which are important to have on a magazine cover or contents page for example a barcode, the date mask head, subheading... so that it meets the criteria's of a magazine cover or contents page. The magazine cover/ contents page will be digitally convergent as I have maintained a house style. For instance, I have used the font impact for both of the mask heads, I have used a two- three scheme on both the front covers and contents page to make the colour variation consistent.
